Fire in the Hole 3 is Nolimit City's most aggressive slot. Six reels, a grid that starts frozen and expands spin-by-spin, and a 70,000x theoretical ceiling that almost nobody will ever hit. Volatility is rated 10/10 — which in practice means long stretches of nothing punctuated by something big. If that sounds like your thing, read on.

How the Game Works
Each spin starts on a 6×3 grid — only the top three rows are active. The bottom three are frozen in ice. Every time something happens (a win, an xBomb explosion, Wild Mining, or xHole), one extra row unlocks and new symbols fall from above. Get enough cascades in a row and you're playing on a full 6×6 grid with 46,656 ways to win.
The ice isn't just decoration. It can contain wilds, multipliers up to 100x, extra scatters, or the 2×2 Max symbol that instantly pays 70,000x. Clearing ice is part of the strategy — or at least part of the hope.
Base Game Features
xBomb Wild
Substitutes for everything except scatters. When it appears, it explodes — whether or not it's part of a winning combination. The explosion removes adjacent symbols, bumps the win multiplier up by its value, and triggers a cascade. xBombs are also sometimes buried in ice, waiting to go off when the block breaks.
Wild Mining
This one fires when 3–6 identical symbols line up (horizontal or vertical) but don't form a win — and no xHole or xBomb is active. The symbols get converted to Wilds: 3 symbols makes 1 Wild, 4 makes 2, 5 makes 3, 6 makes 4. Everything above the alignment explodes. It's the game's way of giving you something even when you almost got nothing.
xHole
Pulls in all regular paying symbols and scatters them back as split symbols (size 1–3). The bigger the split, the more ways to win on the next cascade. Multiple xHoles increase the split size further. In Lucky Wagon Spins, hitting an xHole in the top row triggers 3 Frozen Wagon Spins instead — different mode, only coins in the top row.
xSplit
Splits all symbols to its left into two, then turns into a Wild. Simple but effective — doubles your winning combinations mid-cascade.
Ice Buried Symbols
Under the frozen blocks you'll find: Wilds, xSplit, multipliers ranging from 2x to 100x, xHole, Bonus scatters, and the 2×2 Max symbol. The Max symbol is the one everyone's actually there for — uncover it and the round ends immediately with a 70,000x payout. The Fire in the Bowl buy (7,000x your stake) guarantees it's in there somewhere.
Lucky Wagon Spins
This is the main bonus. Three or more scatters trigger it. You get 3 respins that reset every time a coin lands anywhere on the grid. The top row is an enhancer strip — land a coin under an enhancer and it activates.
Enhancers
- Coin Values — Sets or adds to the coin below.
- Multipliers — Multiplies coin and Persistent Dwarf values on that reel.
- Dynamite — Adds its count to the triggering coin, then scatters extra dynamite across the grid. On coins it doubles the value; same with Persistent Dwarf. Clears ice too.
- Persistent Dynamite — Same as Dynamite but repeats every spin.
- Persistent Dwarf — Collects all visible coin and multiplier values every single spin. The best single enhancer in the bonus by a wide margin.
- Evil Dwarf — Triggers a Golden Spin: every coin on the grid re-activates its enhancer. Values compound. This is where the big numbers come from.
- xHole — Triggers 3 Frozen Wagon Spins (top row shows only coins), then converts to a 1x coin.
Scatter Count vs Starting Rows
| Scatters | Starting Rows | Extra |
|---|---|---|
| 3 | 2 | — |
| 4 | 3 | — |
| 5 | 4 | — |
| 6 | 4 | Persistent Dwarf guaranteed on spin 1 |

Is It Worth Playing?
If you want a game that rewards grinding through dry spells with occasional chaos, yes. The mechanics genuinely interact — xBomb clears ice, ice reveals multipliers, multipliers feed into the Persistent Dwarf, Evil Dwarf compounds everything. When it fires properly, the bonus round feels earned.
That said: 10/10 volatility, 1-in-231 bonus trigger, and a max win probability of 1 in 14.3 million. Don't play this on a budget you can't afford to lose. And always check which RTP version your casino is running — it can legally be as low as 84.07%.
